As a value added component to our overall mission - building efficiencies and predictability into the development and regulatory processes - the Groundbreaking Events initiative will assist clients in planning and securing approvals for their special event. 

Key within our services is our proactive approach and communication methods to provide information, garner input and support from key DC Government officials, DC City Council leadership and members of the Executive Office of the Mayor (EOM). We work with departments regularly.  We're familiar with the process, the people, and the paperwork.  We know that you've got your eye on the big picture and we can help you with these crucial elements so that the rest of your event unfolds just like you imagined. 

The FlackVentures team will:

• Submit applications and relevant documents to reviewing agencies
• Coordinate with project team members and consultants to respond to comments and requests for additional documentation from the Department of Health, Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs, Fire and Emergency Medical Services, Department of Public Works, Department of Transportation, Metropolitan Police Department, and others as required
• Execute completion of any requirements as a part of public notification process and identify key event participants for invitation to include DC City Council, ANC members and the EOM
• Present the project for final approval from the Executive Office of the Mayor's Special Events Task force
• Implement all required elements and final approval for the special event.  The FVI team stays with the event planning team through completion, ending in success on event day

The FlackVentures team will help you complete the Special Event Application and facilitate the actions if your event requires any additional information, permits, licenses or needs.

EVENT PLANNING

Your event may be large or small, simple or complex, months away or next week. Some steps are more relevant than others; we will work with you to choose what will help you the most.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

With many activities going on simultaneously, there are many details to be checked. Major areas to consider and plan for include: size of space or building used, utility support needed, setup coordination, cleanup, emergency plans, transportation, and public services such as police and fire departments.

MARKETING

Promoting a special event takes creative thinking balanced with practicality. The primary objective is to publicize the event, but secondary objectives should be considered.
